Research- I am researching the aesthetic experience. The rise in the incidence and importance of critique is supporting the top end of today’s art market, so in the climate of money and the investment portfolio it is particularly important not to lose sight of non-quantitative values, such as aesthetic experience, within critique.

Studio work- I am a sculptor, I always see the form first rather than colour or movement. My work, although not always site specific, takes account of the traditional issues of form, size, weight, density, and the spatial dimensions it inhabits. I use abstraction and symbolism as a means of expressing narrative and my recent materials have included copper, steel, oak, waxed silk and porcelain paper clay. I am currently exploring themes of absence and presence.
